Community Change Initiative, CCI, is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that was conceived in the year 2008. It was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Nigeria on the 7 February 2011. The
organization is dedicated to giving hope to the hopeless and offering seless service to the society. CCI, is a
committed to bringing marginalized families into the mainstream of the society, giving hope to the needy,
especially internal displaced people, widows, children orphans and indigent youths in any community.
The organization is in partnership with other governmental and non-governmental organizations to implement
community-based projects.
We work mainly in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) but have also implemented community-based projects
in many states across Nigeria.
We are actively involved in the other community based activities in Nigeria. The organization has
implemented projects in the areas of skills acquisition, empowerment, women and gender-based violence,
child abuse, taking children off the street and off to school, etc.
We are in partnership with our principal partner the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social
Development and Rotary Club Abuja Central, National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Association for the
Upliftment of Youths in Nigeria and many more.
Vision: To create a society where there will be an equal opportunity for all, irrespective of gender, religion,
class and social status.
Mission: To promote Education, Health and Economy, Social status of women, youths and children in all
communities in Nigeria, Africa and the world in general. To build bridges for harmonious coexistence of people
with diverge lineage, religion and cultural input
Founder of Community Change
Initiative (CCI) is a woman with great passion
for humanity. She is from Maiduguri, Borno
state and very passionate family woman who has her
vision tailored towards helping the down trodden,
breaking the vicious cycle of poverty in our
communities. She attended Brownwood High School,
Brownwood Tx, USA. Las Positas College, California,
where she obtained an Associate in Arts (AS). She
distinguished herself among her fellow students, and
was selected to be the President of a Black Students
Council. A position she held for two years. She holds a
(BS) Degree in Marketing and Computer Prociency,
San Jose State University, where she obtained a
Master Health (MS) Degree in Psychology “Mental
Health” Counseling”, Howard Payne University,
Brownwood, Tx. A skill which she has found extremely
useful in her life and running CCI.
Aisha Shettima has travelled around the many
countries for charity work; she lives one day at a time
as Allah gives. A core Rotarian (PHF) and has endear
herself to many through her charitable deeds.
Community Change Initiative has recorded huge
success in the areas of gender advocacy, on the
dangers of drug abuse, child and widows’ rights, the
plight of almajiris, teenage pregnancy, pregnant
women and other harmful traditional practices
affecting children, women, orphans and youths. This
has been achieved through campaigns, workshops and
sensitization exercises in Nasarawa state, Borno
State, Kaduna State, Kano, Adamawa state and Abuja
